Much Ado About Nothing - You Can't, And Shouldn't, Go Home Again 1/13/06

Now that John Kitzhaber has finally left the stage where does that leave us with regard to Oregon's, NOT America's, health care crisis and the plans of Oregon's gubernatorial candidates to solve our problem?

Here Is Where Our Gubernatorial Candidates Stand Today
Pete Sorenson, Vicki Walker and Kevin Mannix
AGREE that the following social conditions are moral and economic problems which must be solved by our state government.
Ted Kulongoski, Ron Saxton and Jason Atkinson
DISAGREE that the following social conditions are moral and economic problems which must be solved by our state government.

1. Huge numbers of Oregonians have no health insurance.
2. Huge numbers of Oregonians pay for such costly health insurance that they can afford little or no actual health care.
3. All of Oregon's public institutions are facing skyrocketing and unstoppable increases in health care costs which significantly diminish the quality and quantity of services that need to be provided to the public.

Pete Sorenson
Supports the Oregon Community Health Bill as a solution to the moral and economic health care problems faced by Oregonians and Oregon's public institutions.

Ted Kulongoski, Ron Saxton, Kevin Mannix, Jason Atkinson and Vicki Walker have NO plan to deal with the moral and economic health care problems faced by Oregonians and Oregon's public institutions.

Despite the fact that certain elements within the Oregonian newspaper have already awarded Ted Kulongoski a second term, if the most important issue to voters is health care - as written by Oregonian reporter Dave Hogan, then, as of today, Pete Sorenson deserves and will most likely be Oregon's next governor.

It would be irresponsible for Oregon journalists to wait until May to discover and report where candidates stand on solving Oregon's social and economic health care problems as mentioned above. Ask them now. Today. Right this minute. Their answers MUST be digital. On the bus or off the bus. Either they support a plan to solve the problems mentioned above or they don't. Then tell your readers, listeners and viewers what they had to say. Keep asking them and keep reporting their answers. You'll have to report this story over and over and over again before your audience hears you.
